Halesowen CC members will be asked to approve the appointment of Trevor Jones as the new club President at the club’s AGM on 28 March at 7.30pm
Trevor Argent is standing down as President and the club’s Committee are recommending Mr Jones as his successor.
Mr Jones has a strong association with the Club having first joined in 1972.
He also became club secretary in 1982 and served for 11 years before becoming Groundsman for six years and running the popular Jazz Club for nearly 20 years.
Halesowen CC Vice Chairman Rob Reeves paid tribute to the contribution of Trevor Argent and the qualities of Trevor Jones.
He said: “The Committee recommends the appointment of Mr Trevor Jones as our new President, as Trevor Argent steps down after his long tenure in the role"
“Trevor Argent has been an excellent President – not afraid to challenge thinking – a great ambassador for our Club and the game. Trevor Jones, for those involved with the Club, needs little introduction; a brilliant servant of the club, and a keen supporter of the community and sport.
“Trevor Jones has a strong association with Halesowen Cricket Club. The Committee is delighted that he has accepted this nomination. His efforts over a number of years make him an excellent candidate to replace someone who has been a superb President."

• Marketing and Communications Secretary (provisional)
• Membership Administrator
• Fixtures Secretary
• 3 members elected from the floor of the AGM
• Club Welfare Officers (2 positions minimum)
