Peter Scott joining as our new Head Coach

Scott, 37, joins from Barnt Green and will take charge immediately at our forthcoming Winter indoor nets.

Peter, who was born in Nottingham (and now lives locally in Hartlebury) is currently the Head Cricket Coach at Royal Grammar School, Worcester and coaches on the Worcestershire County Cricket Club Pathway.

Previously, he was an analyst and Coach at Surrey County Cricket Club and has experience of playing Minor Counties cricket for Herefordshire and Staffordshire as a top-order batsman who bowls off spin.

He will also be part of the 1st team squad for the 2020 season

The club’s selection panel of, Head of Cricket Joe Tromans, Chairman Trevor Argent, General Management Committee Member Graham Schofield, Club Captain Alexei Kervezee and Head of Youth Cricket Carl Bust unanimously agreed that he was the outstanding candidate for the role, having impressed during the interview process.

Peter Scott said:

"I’m excited to be given the opportunity at Halesowen to lead the coaching provision for Senior Men’s teams and build on the work of Richard Cox. I relish the task of working with players from 1st XI - 4th XI and seeing improvements from all.

"From my initial meeting with Joe Tromans, I have been impressed with the clubs approach at continuing to improve performance and culture and I look forward to meeting this task head on. I look forward to meeting the playing group soon."

Head of Cricket Joe Tromans said:

"We are delighted to confirm Peter as our new Men's Head Coach. We have gone through a thorough process and looked at all the options that were available to us.

I believe he is what we need to take our all of our senior teams forward and he shares our vision of Halesowen being the best place in the area for anyone to play cricket.”

"Peter is a young, but experienced coach and his knowledge of the Birmingham Premier League will be invaluable in preparing our squad for the challenges ahead“.
