Today we visited Telford on a dreadful day for football conditions but that said it was the same for both sides. Halesowen started the better and created a great chance when a Nicholds pull back was met by Sam Taylor who blaized over the bar. Against the run of play Halesowen made an unusual error and gifted Telford the lead when a sloppy clearance fell nicely to the Telford striker who couldn't miss. Telford with their tails up capitalised on some poor defending again and found themselves 4-0 up at half time. Second half was one way traffic and Halesowen got a deserved goal from La Marr Love and should have had a second soon after when some clever work from Brad Ward resulted in a shot that the goalie was able to collect. Against the run of play Telford scored their best goal of the match when a solo run and finish from their substitute ended any hopes for Halesowen to make it 5-1. Halesowen did score again to make it 5-2 from La Marr Love once again but the match was over. A strange performance from the Yeltz but all credit to Telford as they showed what hard work, team spirit and decent finishing gets you when it all comes together.
