Halifax came out with 3 points from a possible 9. However, they played well and can consider themselves unlucky not to have won more.

Halifax Under 13 Team:
1. Joe Codling (GK)
2. James Hare
3. Hannah Codling
4. Ellie Newton
5. Kira Cunningham
6. Bradley Gerrard
7. Oliver Holden
8. Adam Hare

Halifax began the day playing Spen Valley B. The team started strongly and took the lead when Bradley Gerrard put the ball past the Spen keeper. He doubled his tally for the day to put Halifax 2-0 up. Howeverm Spen dug deep and managed to level the game at 2-2. Halifax needed to get their grip back on the game, and they did in style when Kira Cunningham collected the ball in her own half a skated the length of the rink to score a wonderful individual goal. Bradley then completed his hat-trick, and Hannah Codling finished off a suberb flowing move by smashing the ball into the back of the net. Spen did score a third but it was merely a consolation as Halifax ran out 6-3 victors!

Halifax then suffered a huge blow whilst waiting for their next game against Spen A. Ellie Newton was taken to hospital after falling and injuring her back. The doctors checked her out and she was back home that evening, and back in school the next day.

Halifax were up next against Spen A. The team, already missing Daniel Bouabida through illness and with Ellie unable to play, were forced to call in the services on Adam Hare from the under 11s who had come down to spectate. Adam jumped at the chance to play which was great to see and he performed excellently, showing us all that he is a real talent for the future. It was a tough game and both teams played really well, especially Joe Codling in the Halifax goal who made a number of impressive saves to keep the team in the game. It was a close game however, it was Spen that came out on top eventually winning 2-0.

Halifax's third game of the day was against title chasing Manchester. Halifax were hit with another blow, as Bradley Gerrard had to leave to play in a football game. Luckily our second Hare brother, James, was available to step up to take his place. James was thrown straight into the action and he displayed a great amount of composure on the ball for someone as young as he is. Manchester played some really good hockey and caught Halifax on the break time and time again, alowing them plenty of goal scoring opportunities. Fatigue was setting in with the Halifax players and the defence began to get pulled apart. This gave Manchester time and space to pass the ball around freely to create more goals. The final score was 15-0 to Manchester, however the score doesnt tell the whole story. The Halifax players were a real credit to the club and played their hearts out in every game.

Well done to all the players, you did us proud!
