Local derby winners

Another 3 points on the board tonight with a great away performance against Caerwys. Halkyn started brightly and forced the Caerwys goalkeeper (who got awarded their man of the match) into some early saves, especially denying Brett Jones who struck a sweet shot from 20 yards out after a cleared corner.
However a tidy finish from Jack Griffiths broke the deadlock for the away side, Many more chances came but both goalkeepers made a couple of saves to keep it at 0-1 going into half time.
Halkyn flew out the traps in the second half and within 45 seconds had made it 0-2 with Jon Edmonds finishing of a nice piece of play from Halkyn. Jon Edmonds grabbed another goal to take his tally to 10 goals in 5 league games; a perfectly weighted free kick by Jack Griffiths found the head of substitute Ryan Anderson who nodded home to make it 0-4. Caerwys did manage to score a consolation goal in the last minute or so, after a long ball found their striker who put it past the Halkyn goalkeeper.
