Match report

Sevenoaks Cronicle Roundup
On a warm autumnal afternoon more befitting the game of cricket no fewer than 116 goals were scored from a full programme of 24 matches. Hat tricksters were plenty in total with nine being netted, the leading marksman being Dave Wood of Kemsing United who scored four as the villagers ran up the top score of the afternoon defeating Orpington 3rd 11-0.
Hildenborough Athletic’s intent of retaining the Premier Division came out clear for the second week running but they were forced to work hard before overcoming a resolute Tonbridge Baptist Church to win 2-0. Injuries for the second season in succession continue to plague Borough’s progress and they were forced to field no fewer than five 16 year olds in their squad. Charlie Ottway gave his side the perfect opening scoring after ten minutes play. The hosts continued to push forward and although missing chances eventually went further ahead when Ottway was brought down inside the area and Adam Davies scored from the penalty spot. In a sporting encounter Tonbridge Baptist Church rarely created any openings as the Borough defence held firm, the nearest they came to reducing the deficit was when a free kick came back off an upright.
A goal by Will Burns gave Halstead United victory over Eynsford while St. Lawrence recovered from a reverse on the opening day of the season to defeat newly promoted Ide Hill 4-2. Jonny Turnbull and Alex Legge-Beale both grabbing a brace of goals each. Ide Hill were always chasing the game although trailing 2-0 at one stage they reduced the arrears when Ryan Gardner netted but this was short lived as Saints went 4-1 up. Nick Capon then netted a late penalty.
In the mid-Kent derby between Borough Green United and Ightham the score remained the goal less at the end of the match but at the other end of the spectrum Kemsing United were in rampant goal scoring form notching eleven without conceding against luckless Orpington 3rd. On target for Kemsing were Dave Wood (4), Chris Ralph (3), Adam Shaw, long serving Andy Glock, Dave Sanson together with Dave East.
AW London crashed 9-2 to visiting Nomads despite taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Daryl Featherstone and Jonathan Etshindo making his debut with the Club. The hosts then went in at the half way stage trailing 3-2 ultimately falling apart during the second half and losing keeper Phil Sellek who had to be taken to hospital where Xrays on his pelvis showed apparent bruising. Danny Brazenell, ace marksman and possibly the most consistent goal scorer for decades, notched a hat trick for the victors aided by Nick Forbes (2), Andy Hancock (2), Carl Kinsey and Michael Marshall
