We regret to inform you that:

- Hamburg is a densely populated city and has one of the highest infection ratios per resident in Germany, this is a very serious and extreme event, do not take it lightly, listen to and follow the official advice.

- On Wednesday the 11th of March, the German Rugby Verband (DRV) postponed all games until further notice.

- In the evening of Friday the 13th of March, the Hamburg Rugby Verband (HHRV) closed all pitches and changing rooms until the 31st of March;

- On Sunday the 15th of March the Hamburg City Council banned all public and non-public events and gatherings in which people meet until the 30th of April 2020, regardless of the number of participants.

On this basis field training and Matches will be postponed until the 1st of May at the earliest although be prepared for it to be longer.

Beyond these rules we all have a social responsibility to minimize the spread of the virus, protect the more vulnerable and reduce the burden on the health service.

The German Mother has asked us to do this (German only):

and there is a great statistical simulation of why we should do this here (English only):

We cannot stress enough how important it is for us all to minimise contact with others during this time-period and to take sensible steps to keep ourselves and others safe.
