The club are pleased to announce that Tyrell Miller-Rodney has signed with the Beavers for the coming season.
Tyrell has been the last to sign. He was one of the heroes of our FA Cup run last season and has featured regularly in pre-season, where his versatility at full-back or in midfield were apparent.
Gary now has settled on a squad to start the season and there's a good blend of players to wear the new kit this season.
Unfortunately, he has had to release centre-back Jack Strange, and he's not been able to find a place in the squad for two others who have appeared regularly in pre-season, Matty Wichelow and Claudio Ofusu.
Our first-team squad at the start of the season is:
Goalkeeper: Laurie Walker
Defenders: Tom Jelley, Tyrell Miller-Rodney, Ed Cook, Luke Ruddick, Dean Inman, Charlie Fox, Ruaridh Donaldson, Brad Pearce and Jude Mason (both on short-term loan from Sutton United)
Midfield: Louis Stead, Shaun McAuley, Sam Deadfield, Cole Brown, Louie Soares, Jamie Hope, Joe Wotton
Attack: Zak Joseph, Ryan Hill, Danilo Orsi-Dadomo, James Ewington and Tyrone Lewthwaite.
Just four of these finished last season, Miller-Rodney, Ruddick, Joseph and Hill, while Hope and Wotton were in the youth team, meaning once again, the Beavers begin the season with a largely new squad of players.
However, new squad they might be, but given the blend of experience and youth, there's a lot to be positive about. If the Beavers get a good start through August and September, there no reason to think they would not be able to continue and take it through to the end of the season.
Tomorrow's game at Chelmsford will be a good test for the line-up, and to show them where they're at in this very tough division.
There will be live text updates via the club's twitter feed, @hrbfc, throughout the game, to keep you up to speed with all the action.
