Ben Rooth.....Club Statement

Reserves/U21/U18 striker Ben Rooth has had on serious operation on an injury sustained in Sunday's 3-1 win over Stocksbridge PS.

We can confirm that Ben underwent an emergency operation on Sunday evening as a result of injury sustained in the 3-1 win over Stocksbridge PS at Olivers Mount a game in which the marksman scored one of his trademark goals.

Ben will be kept in hospital of the foreseeable future and will undergo a further operation in the coming days.

Ambers U18 A manager Daz Spooner said today of the shocking news " I have been in constant contact with Ben and his family, and were all devastated for him that he has had to undergo such a serious operation on his thigh muscle, he has one more operation to undergo , but we are just grateful that ourselves as a club and his family spotted the signs early of a very serious injury, he's a fantastic lad who is in the middle of his best ever season for the Ambers, we'll give him and his family all the support they need as he begins his recovery."

The whole club wish Ben a very speedy recovery and send our love and best wishes as he prepares for his 2nd operation in the coming days- we will keep you updated of Ben's progress as soon as we have any news.
