Handsworth Parramore

Last week (Saturday) we announced that Mitchell Radford will be taking over the social media at the club. We now think it's time for an update on who Mitchell is, and where he is going to fit in at the club.

Mitchell is a 19 year old from Worksop. He is a Worksop Town supporter who he has watched for a total of nine years. He will be controlling the traditional forms of social media such as: Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and helping out Steve Holmes on Twitter. Mitchell will also be helping the brilliant Ian Robinson with match day programme duties.

This is Mitchell's first 'venture' into a football clubs social media. Although he did post on the 'Worksop Town FC Supporters Page' which isn't a official source of news for the club but does have 2,000+ likes, so he does have knowledge of how to run pages. In the future, Mitchell wants to attend University for a Media degree.

How did you get involved with Handsworth Parramore?

I got involved with Handsworth when I sent a tweet out asking if there was any NCEL clubs that needed help within their social media teams, and if they did to private message me. Handsworth messaged me, and instantly I knew that I wanted to be involved with the club. I live a stones throw away from the Sandy Lane ground, and personally I know that the club treats people very well, I couldn't say no really!

What are your plans for the Social Media of Handsworth Parramore?

Obviously I can't reveal everything I have planned just yet, but first of all my focus is on trying to build the club on all fronts of media. This is the first time that the club has had other social media accounts except Twitter. Having a good following on each platform would be great, some people don't have Facebook and vice versa so building each platform up is something that is needed and I'm dealing with it currently. I would also like to create a YouTube channel for the club, I have dealt with video editing before and a lot of people use YouTube, so I believe that would be perfect to grow the clubs audience.

Why did you choose Handsworth Parramore?

I chose Handsworth Parramore as from personal experiences, when I attended the clubs matches if Worksop ever wasn't playing, I was always treated very well and made to feel welcome. They're also a club on the up, one of the better teams in the NCEL (currently 5th) and with a new ground being built on the horizon, the club is in good hands and is perfect for me to develop my skills and gain vital experience here.

How has your first week been?

My first week has been great really, I started 'properly' on Saturday when I provided the clubs Twitter with match updates on the game against Barton Town. I've been constantly on my phone inviting people to like the Facebook page I have created, posting photos and snaps on Instagram & Snapchat. So far the reception has been great.

Any final words?

Just the fact that I'm new to handling social media for a football club, so try and be patient with me please! Every article/tweet/photo isn't going to be perfect just yet, but I'll be trying my hardest to grow the club in any way I can. Hopefully, It can have a positive effect on the club and me!
