The ambers, coming off the back of back to back wins, started the better of the two teams but failed to create much in the opening minutes.
The two teams were cancelling each other out until the ambers found the breakthrough. Rippon did well to keep the ball before disguising the perfect reverse ball to find Marrison who calmly slotted home his first goal for the ambers.
The game was then interrupted due to a minor fracas which resulted in two yellows being shown, one for either team.
The visitors then picked up towards the break, as Garner fired a shot from 35 yards but couldn’t beat the ambers keeper. The resulting corner the visitors hit the bar from a header.
The visiting keeper was then in action as Rippon tried a volley from 20 yards but it was palmed away well. HT 1-0.
Rippon continued to be a problem for the visitors as 5 minutes into the second half, his glancing header was inches away from making the score 2-0.
Marrison then went close with a header as he brushed the side netting. Substitute Holden then went close after cutting inside but didn’t trouble the keeper.
The visitors then went close again, a close range volley blazed over the bar before having a goal disallowed for offside. And in the 86th minute, they got their equaliser. Lumsden with the goal as he simply tapped the ball in.
The game finished 1-1 with the ambers regretting missed chances.
