The Ambers squad hosted Cleethorpes Town at Sandy Lane and ran out 4-0 winners to progress into the next round.
The Ambers started brightly and quickly took control of possession , stamping their authority on the game and it came as no surprise when skipper Josef Turner volleyed home a superb set piece delivery from Ellis Moore on 26 minutes to give the Ambers a deserved lead.
The Ambers controlled the 1st 45 minutes , with our visitors showing brief glimpses of attacking intent.
Cleethorpes came out in the 2nd half with a more purposeful game plan and the Ambers needed to show a resolute side to their game, which in fairness they did to good effect to stifle the more direct approach from the Owls, in what had now becoming quite a cagey affair.
The slick passing game of the Ambers continued to impress and some incisive play led to the 2nd goal from the Penalty spot after a foul in the area, Cleethorpes strongly contested the decision which in fairness was ratified by the linesman as well as the referee.
Ellis Moore kept a cool head and confidently stroked the ball home to give the Ambers a two goal lead on 76 minutes.
The 2 goal cushion was the signal for the young Ambers to express themselves against a tiring opponents and the final 15 minutes were a joy to watch as the fluent passing style that this side have made there own in recent times came to the fore.
It was soon 3-0 when the impressive Brad Nicholson rose to meet a fine Moore corner with a towering header which powerfully beat the visiting keeper before hitting the roof of the net on 80 minutes.
The Ambers then laid siege in Cleethorpes half and it was no surprise when Tom Cropper who had made a fantatsic impact on the game got a derserved goal to put the Ambers 4-0 up on 86 minutes.
As the referee blew for Full Time the jubilant Ambers progressed to the next round with a competent performance against a very good side in Cleethorpes who in fairness just simply ran out of steam, Daz & John can be rightly proud of the young Ambers who defended well, attacked well and passed the ball very well showing a fantastic togetherness and desire , maybe just maybe there's another cup run in the offing!
