Cockfosters 0 v 1 Harlow Town

Cockfosters 0 v 1 Harlow Town

Ray Dyer1 May - 19:59

Harlow picked up a win against Wembley bound Cockfosters to end their season on a high.

Cockfosters had secured a place in the play offs and arguably started the better side, they had a couple of good chances in the first half but were denied by James Pellin as well as some misfired shots.

With the score 0-0 at half time it seemed as if Harlow were going to finish the season on a relatively poor run of form and again ‘The Cocks’ had a few chances but much like the first half they simply weren’t able to find a breakthrough.

As the second half wore on there were plenty of substitutions from both sides but still no goals as the game seemed almost destined to end nil nil.

Harlow are now out of administration and can hopefully look towards a brighter future under new ownership as well as new management.

Club legend Syrus Gordon and his back room staff took out the reigns from Danny Chapman following the news of administration and they would’ve been over the moon when with just 5 minutes left to play Teddy Jones free kick was parried by goalkeeper Connor Sansom in the perfect place for Josh Gruby to score the follow up.

A 1-0 win against a very good side is arguably the perfect send off for Syrus and his staff, the club will be forever grateful for their hard work throughout a turbulent time in the clubs history and everyone associated with Harlow Town will wish them all the best going forward.

Line up: Pellin, Steel, Simms (C), Jones, Attard, Kaikai, Da Silva, Gruby, Agjemang,Darby, Cousins.
Subs: Pullen, Ishaq Ameen, James, Ansen, Akinola
