First outing for Veo camera at the 1stXV and Colts games last weekend

Club Captain Iain Taffs is behind the initiative to invest in the latest sports video techology for Harrow RFC.
"Veo is an AI enabled camera , which will allow us as a whole club to record and analyse rugby without the need for a camera operator. We will be able to record matches and training sessions create highlights, tag players and give feedback on their performance on Veo’s easy-to-use, interactive editor.

Historically we have struggled to make use of video analysis, and with the simplicity of Veo we have the opportunity to make the most of the available technology and material, and support the coaching and development of players and coaches alike at a time when our resources are already limited, and we need to use technology to support them as much as possible.

With the camera comes the web based platform which will allow up to 10 teams to have their own space. (which means we can keep Seniors and Youth content separate - and all under log-in and password protection).

The camera is sited on a fully mobile and retractable tripod up to 23 feet high - which will cover all of the pitch (and comes with wind protectors also) – and by having the tripod as opposed to situating on our current scaffolding means that we can use on any of the pitches when we want to record - we can cover any of the 3 pitches and/or take to away games.
The camera will record the game and, at the same time, captures and separates all of the key moments through AI/Machine Learning of all the scrums, lineouts, tries etc - which it then separates in the platform - so players can go in and filter on specific topics - or just watch themselves.

Most importantly though, it allows for analysis to be done without someone having to go through and edit etc. So, for example - you can filter on scrums - put all of them into a playlist - share with the forwards - get them to watch - and then run a session on what went well etc on a Tuesday night using the material.
We will be able to use across all of the age groups, all matches, training sessions, it is portable and therefore means we get a maximum return from the investment as we would be able to use as much as we would like and it clearly would benefit the whole club, and also the development of players and coaches alike.

Content is also editable, so you can draw on screen shots, add comments to clips etc, which will really enhance the analysis element of the camera, and all material can easily be linked to social media - so you can upload tries, highlight reels etc directly into FB, Instagram , etc. which again will enhance the profile of the club and all of its sections."
