Harrow U14s won the Gallagher Premiership Rugby award for demonstrating diversity, passion and energy for the game and embracing everything they do, to protect and grow the game in an inclusive way that embodies the spirit of rugby, on and off the pitch.
The ultimate prize was an exclusive training session with their Saracens heroes. .
On Wednesday 6th February the Saracens legends Schalk Burger, Alex Goode and David Strettle, together with two Saracens coaches took the U14’s training session at Harrow RFC. With a squad of 28 players, they were put through their paces, with the pro players giving away some of the secrets of elite rugby training. During the session some of the Harrow players were interviewed by the media and the whole event was recorded and photographed.
After a great session, the players had team photos with Saracens stars who presented them with a set of match balls, a signed shirt and mini rugby balls plus plenty of time for autographs and selfies. Within minutes the photos appeared on Instagram and Twitter.
A huge thank you to Gallagher Premiership Rugby, the Saracens players and coaches and Green 22 who organised the whole event. This was a unique opportunity for the players to train with their heroes and something they will never forget. It was hard to tell who enjoyed it the most, the players or their proud parents. What a fantastic experience!
Well done to all the players, coaches, Team Manager Karen Stirrup and the volunteers who help make this squad great team!
