Senior Squad looking forward to a great season

There’s a whole raft of league & friendly games, social events and a Senior Squad of players eager to get back to proper rugby under our new Head Coach Mark Chapman.
Harrow RFC 1stXV will be competing in the London and South East NW3 League and our 2ndXV will compete in the Herts and Middlesex Merit Tables. Pre-season kicks off on 27th July when training starts, and our first match is a pre-season friendly at Ruislip RFC on Aug 14th. With matches planned right through until the Leagues start on 18th September we will be back with a bang!
Our ambition for this season is to play competitive rugby with the full commitment and support of everyone at the club. Players’ anticipation levels are increasing week on week and coach Mark Chapman is very excited at the prospect: “Like the lads, I can’t wait to get stuck into a full match programme and ensure that we are match fit and building our teams ready for the league season. This will be a very exiting time for all of us and the whole club”
Harrow RFC has weathered the pandemic storm as a club reasonably well, thanks to commitment and dedication from players, volunteers and club members. We now welcome existing and new players back to the club to be part of our own building back better by getting better at everything we do.
Along with coach Mark, the 1st XV Captain Jamie Taffs and senior player Mark Gibson have been working with the clubs’ committee of management to plan for the season and to plan for improvement.
There will be a Support Team for the Senior Squad to take care of the off-field activities which are all important for a successful club, and these include some very experienced people such as Howie Gosling, Margaret Glynn, Iain Taffs and Matt Linden. Between them, and others, they will ensure the smooth running of what will be an expanding Senior Squad.
Howie is also aiming to get a Vets side out for the ultimate in social rugby.
We welcome new players all the time and you will find us friendly, fun but serious about our sport! We are also looking for new sponsors too as the club will be a great example of strength in our community and of real interest to local sponsors. They will help us build better and stronger.

If you want to be part of this exciting club as we start rugby again and get on with the job of re-defining a successful, welcoming and enjoyable club then please just let us know!
Here’s to a great season!
