New Players Welcome

Welcome to the Harrow Minis Section.

If you are reading this then you have already taken the first steps towards joining a rugby club. Rugby is a game with something for everyone. It is totally inclusive for all shapes, sizes, interests and abilities. Harrow Rugby Club encourages both girls and boys to join us in this fun for all sport.

At Harrow RFC we aim to uphold the RFU's core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship. These are five great reasons to get involved with rugby and they are what makes rugby union so special.

Training takes place every Sunday from 10am to 12pm and you are guaranteed a warm welcome.

The season starts on 7th September 2014, initially with 4 weeks of home based training, then a number of friendly fixtures, either home or away. Throughout the season the minis will also have 3 to 4 competitive festivals. The season ends in May. All fixtures can be found on the website. The players age group is determined by their age on 1st September at the start of that season.

The Minis run from U7's to U12's, starting with U7 tag rugby which is totally non-contact and is played with an emphasis on passing, scoring, movement and having fun. At U9 contact is carefully introduced, with safety a key consideration at all times. This is gradually built upon progressing to full contact by the time they reach U12's. Last season we implemented the RFU 'New Rules ' designed to gradually introduce players to the various aspects, which when all put together make up the game of rugby.

Each Age Group has its own Parent Manager and Coach who will be RFU qualified, in addition each age group will have a number of other coaches most of them qualified as well as first aiders. All our coaches and managers are CRB checked.

If your child would like to come along and join in a session, please feel free to contact the relevant Team Manager or Linda Dunleavy who will be happy to answer any questions or just come along on Sunday morning (NB check fixture list for relevant age group to ensure your team is playing at home first).

Give us a TRY ....... we think you can handle it.
