Great start to the Season

From Sunday's tournament, the coaches certainly saw Harrow U12's contest possession vigorously in most of these areas. Still some work to do on our set piece but when you consider first competitive matches with 6 boys now involved, some of which are new we have a good starting point to work from. In attack we saw, the boys using their running, agility & kicking skills to great effect which helped provide support in attack running straight attacking the space, passing along the line & before or out of contact which created pressure on the defence, create continuity & outscore our opponents.
In defence we saw the boys contesting possession by going forward with excellent line speed together (support & continuity) which suffocated the space (pressure) for the our opponents to attack us, we dominated the contact area (tackle line) which created turnover ball which helped us regain possession & score trys. We also saw an excellent display of goal kicking from Luke & Thomas & at Full back Thomas made some great decisions with defensive kicks that the team turned into attacking opportunities.

In summary , the boys all played very well and we finished Top, with 4 wins from 4 matches. Please remember what it feels like to win & how we got the win............ as you certainly got out of this tournament what you put in - Great attitude, commitment & support for one another. The bar has been raised & for those who are available & representing Harrow RFC U12's at the Saracens event next week can we repeat the efforts again?

I would like to acknowledge with a big THANK YOU to Gideon, Raees & Jack for agreeing to play for an under strength Welwyn side which had spare players from all the attending Clubs & made up the Welwyn BaaBaas. They played well together & despite not knowing the other players at all, beat a very well drilled Chesham in their last game - well done.

Thanks to Jo for arranging all to be in attendance at the right venue & on time, for Colin for his contribution towards refereeing the matches, you'll have next week off at Saracens & Thanks to Richard & Antonio who gave the team talks & feedback on performances which made it a great team effort
