44-year old Wayne joins us from Harefield United, where he orchestrated a successful 2024/25 season, reaching the final of the Combined Counties Premier North Play-Offs but missing out on promotion to Bedfont Sports.

Following a successful playing career with Wealdstone, Northwood, Hendon, Uxbridge and Hanwell Town, he took on a Player Manager role with Egham Town, before re-joining Hanwell in a similar capacity. His stay with The Geordies culminated with them winning promotion to Step 3 and The Southern League Premier Division via the play-offs. A short spell as manager at Chertsey Town followed, before he moved onto Harefield United, with the Hares finishing last season in fourth position in the Combined Counties Premier North Division before their eventual play-off heartache.

Carter is expected to bring with him his management team from Preston Park.

On his appointment Wayne said, ‘I’m delighted to be here and am looking forward to getting started. There’s a lot to do in the next few weeks and I’ve not come here to finish mid-table. I put pressure on myself, but I’m a winner and I’m here to win’.

Away from football, Wayne is a Regional Manager with a Waste Disposal company and lives in Thatcham with his wife Keeley and 11-year-old daughter Elsie.

We are looking to re-build following a disappointing 2024/25 season with the aim of achieving a play-off position - the first step in returning to Step 3 in the National League System.
