Brook House Reserves 1-1 Harrow Borough U23s

Away to Brook House, where they also drew 1-1 in the league in October and last season, our Under 23s went ahead when Anthony Chinwada collected a through pass before rounding the keeper to finish. There were opportunities to add a second through several one on one chances, but the home side made them rue those missed chances when they equalised after a quickly taken free kick.

Boro had further chances to win the game, but had to settle for a point in a group that also includes Uxbridge and Tring Athletic, with the top two teams progressing to the knockout stages.

Assistant Coach, Danny Dyer said, 'I felt the game was always going to be a very competitive local derby against a team who always compete and fight for every ball and that’s exactly how I felt the game started out. There wasn’t much between the teams in the early parts and I feel both sides were trying to make the best of quite a difficult pitch in parts. I still felt the desire from us to play the ball on the surface was evident, but was also maybe our undoing in certain situations'.

'I always felt our goal would come through direct play and less touches on the ball in the midfield area and we were rewarded through this when Anthony scored. At this level it's all about development and I think we will all learn from developing an attacking instinct to take one of our several one on one chances, and then defending a quickly taken free kick which resulted in an equaliser. Though I feel we should have taken at least one of the chances we created towards the end, today's game was always going to prove difficult for us having drawn the last two games here'.

Our Under 23's next two games are both against Uxbridge in the same competition - away on Saturday 4th March and at home on Saturday 11th March.
