Midweek Fixture With The Royal Artillery
We look forward to welcoming The Royal Artillery Cannons for a special midweek fixture next Wednesday (29th March).
They will travel to Mayfield Park from their base in Larkhill, Wiltshire, to face a select XV from the club.
The Cannons are a new squad formed this season providing opportunities for junior members of The Royal Regiment of Artillery to pull on the shirt and represent their cap badge.
Not yet established in the Corps league (Aldershot), the Cannons have travelled the UK this season playing friendly fixtures.
The Royal Artillery Rugby Football Club comprises five teams - 1st XV, Academy (Cannons), Masters, Women's XV and Men's 7s.
Director of Rugby, Liam Lester, said: "We're delighted to be hosting The Cannons next Wednesday and we're grateful to Steph & the team for offering us this fixture.
"I'm sure it will be a great occasion and an exciting game. It's rare that we get to host these types of fixtures so I'm sure it will generate a fair amount of intrigue and be played in front of a large crowd at Mayfield Park."
The game will get underway at 7pm.
