The 1XV return to Counties 1 action with a trip to promotion-chasing Ryton.
There’s a welcome boost in the pack as Rylie Lang returns to the starting XV after missing the trip to Novos, partnering Daniel Cooper in the second row. In the back row, Ben Kitching comes back into the side to take the No.6 shirt, with captain David Chester unavailable. In his absence, vice-captain Anthony Harvey steps up to lead the side.
Changes in the backs see an opportunity at scrum half for Nathan Taylor, who earns his call-up following a Man of the Match display for the 2XV last weekend. With Josh Walker and Keagen Thomas both unavailable, Taylor will be looking to make his mark.
There’s further reinforcement out wide, with Owen Samuel and Dylan Thomas both returning to the back three, adding pace and experience.
On the bench, Karl Mann retains his place after making his 1XV debut at Novos, while Andrew Bostwick returns from injury, having last featured in the win at Darlington.
A tough test awaits, but Pool will be aiming to rise to the challenge against one of the league’s front-runners.

The 2XV are the only side at home on Saturday as they welcome Rovers Heughers to Mayfield Park in a local derby.
After coming up short in the reverse fixture at the New Friarage back in January, the Maroons will be hungry to put things right on home soil.
The 3XV hit the road in CANDY League 3 with a trip to Houghton, aiming to build on a string of encouraging performances.
After positive showings against Peterlee & Horden, Sedgefield and Seaton Carew, there’s a growing sense of momentum within the squad.
Whether you’re making the trip to Ryton, supporting at Mayfield Park or following the 3XV on the road, your backing makes all the difference.
