As part of our celebrations to commemorate 50 years since we moved to our home, we will be hosting the inaugural Mayfield Park 7s weekender this Summer.

Eight teams will participate in an invitation men's competition on Saturday 31st July before an Under 18 event on Sunday 1st August.

Four teams are already confirmed for the men's competition including ourselves, North Wales Exiles, Stockton RFC and Brinky Barbarians, made up of former Hartlepool Sixth Form College players .

As well as a feast of sevens action there will be food, music, a post event social and live coverage of the second test between South Africa and the British & Irish Lions.

Speaking of the event, Director of Rugby, Liam Lester said: "This should be a great weekend of rugby in the height of Summer and a fitting way to mark our 50 years at Mayfield Park.

"We're looking forward to welcoming back our community and the wider rugby community to celebrate the return of our sport with a real festival atmosphere.

"Alongside the fast paced action on the field, there will be plenty going on off it to enjoy too. We plan on this being an annual event going forward albeit earlier on in the calendar next year."
