An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the club’s media team as Media Officer.

ROLE: Media Officer

DEPARTMENT: Media & Communications

LOCATION: Hartlepool Rugby Club, Mayfield Park

RESPONSIBLE TO: Media & Communications Manager

SALARY: Unpaid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic Media Officer to join the Media Team at Hartlepool Rugby Club and play a pivotal role in content creation.

You will have the opportunity and autonomy to create engaging and entertaining digital content for the club's social media channels.

This is a great chance to develop your media skills across all formats including videography, video editing, photography, graphic design and written journalism.

This vacancy may be particularly relevant for an aspiring sports journalist or anyone looking to gain valuable experience in a rugby/sporting environment.

It is the ideal role for someone currently undertaking or considering a career in media/journalism/digital marketing, or someone with a keen interest in content creation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Media & Communications Manager and contribute to the overall media strategy of the club with creative ideas and innovative thinking
  • Accompany the men's 1st XV to home and away games
  • Record games using the club's VEO camera
  • Provide live score updates to social media
  • Assist in creating video content for our social media channels in a variety of different ways. Including self-generated footage such as player/coach interviews, match action, behind the scenes clips etc.
  • Create compelling graphics that follow the club’s brand guidelines
  • Contribute written content to the club website

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience in creating content for digital platforms
  • Some knowledge of video editing
  • Experience in basic graphic design
  • Knowledge of various social media channels
  • Interest and knowledge of rugby

  • Confidence to come up with and share new ideas
  • Trustworthy, conscientious and reliable

As a community club we’re unable to offer a salary for this position, duties are to be carried out on a voluntary basis – however the role provides invaluable experience for individuals passionate about sports media.

Club attire will be provided.

Matches typically take place on a Saturday afternoon.
