All the big stories from around the club in our weekend round up.

- Saturday was disappointing in terms of results, with the 1st XV & 2nd XV losing out and the Friars game halted after ten minutes of play when the pitch was deemed unplayable.

- But there were positives too with several returning players, four Academy players making their debut and 65 lads taking the field.

- One of those Academy players was Jude Thompson who not only made his senior debut for the club but did so alongside his Dad Paul. A proud moment!

- On Sunday Hartlepool Ladies lost out 43-10 to a strong Yarm side but there was plenty to admire in their performance.

- Not least the emergence of our Under 18 players, four of which took part in this game. Talia Fox and Imogen Farrell made their debut, with Imi scoring a superb try from inside her own half. 17 year old Rachel Holliday also scored on her first start when she showed great awareness to pick and cross the line from five metres out.

- Spanish flanker Laura Porras, who is with us until the end of the season, picked up the Player of the Match award on her debut for the team following a tireless display.

- Our Under 14 boys advanced to the semi finals of the County Plate following a 24-26 victory over Peterlee & Horden. Isaac Taylor scored his fourth try of the game with the final play to level things up and James Armstrong saw his conversion sail through the posts to seal the win.
