We are one of four men’s teams set to participate in only the second-ever staging of the community Takeover Day and will play three 20-minute matches on the hallowed turf.
The team will be treated to the full Twickenham experience which includes a photocall in front of the Spirit of Rugby, spending time in the home changing room, lining up in the tunnel and being announced out onto the pitch.
As part of England Rugby's Play Together, Stay Together campaign, clubs from across the country were invited to tell the RFU what their club is doing to keep age grade players in the game and support their transition to senior rugby.
The community team shortlisted the best entries and the eight winners were chosen by a panel of age-grade ambassadors from the England Pathways team.
As well as the four men's teams, four women's teams from across the country will also participate in the event.
Entry is free to supporters and we are encouraging as many of you as possible to attend and cheer on your club at Twickenham.
Transport will be organised from Mayfield Park for players and supporters, details of which will be announced very soon along with an itinerary for the day.
"Firstly, we're very grateful to the panel for choosing us as one of the four men's team to take part in the Twickenham Takeover Day this year. It was certainly a pleasant surprise when we received the email last Friday inviting us to attend.", said Director of Rugby, Liam Lester.
"This is going to be a once in a lifetime occasion for our players and supporters. We want as many of them as possible to join us and be part of what is going to be a memorable and enjoyable day that will live long in the memory.
"The eight clubs were part of a teams call with England Rugby last night to explain how the day would run and they emphasised that the whole purpose is to give everyone the best possible experience.
"It will be fantastic to see Hartlepool players run out at Twickenham in front of friends and family, and follow in the footsteps of rugby greats."
Twickenham Stadium is the iconic home of England Rugby and the largest dedicated rugby union venue in the world, seating up to 82,000 people.
It has played host to some of the most memorable rugby matches and biggest names in the game over the last century.
More details about the Twickenham Takeover Day will be communicated in due course.
