Hartlepool make the short trip across town to Catcote Road on Saturday afternoon for the first derby of the season (3pm KO).

This fixture will mark the first time that these two sides have met in league competition.

West are the early front runners following back to back victories over newly promoted pair, Darlington and Guisborough.

Pool picked up their first win of the season with a convincing 41-0 victory over Sunderland.

There is only one change to the squad that defeated the Wearsiders with Shane Ivey returning from injury to replace Max Filby who is unavailable due to work commitments.

Ivey has recovered from the knock that he sustained against Bishop Auckland on the opening day and will partner Harry Watts in the second row.

The visitors will be hoping that their back three can continue their blistering form that has seen them contribute eight tries in just two games.

The Maroons are back in CANDY League action when they face West Stags at Brinkburn in an early kick off (1pm KO).

They will be looking to get their first win of the season following a pair of narrow defeats, despite solid performances.

Pool have named a big travelling squad and can call upon vice captain Alex Sharp, former County U18 second row Jack Riley and RAF U23 hooker Daniel Cooper for the first time this campaign.

The names of Academy graduate Liam Mcmenemy and second row Joe McDonnell are a welcome sight on the squad list.

17 year old Harvey Cornforth is also in line to make his senior debut.
