Pool remain in 2nd place, 6 points behind the leaders Guisborough who visit Mayfield Park this Saturday.

Pool lost the toss and played down the bank with the gale force wind in their faces .

The opening few minutes was played at a frantic pace with both teams were trying to spin the ball out at every opportunity.

15 mins into the game, Pool took a deserved lead with a great team try, with the ball in their own 22 metres line, a series of forwards drives took the ball into the oppositions half, the backs and forwards combined before Pool stand off Adam Ainley finished off a flowing move scoring under the posts. Lewis Wilson kicked the extra two points . 7-0

The home team were unlucky not to score after a dangerous move which saw them attack from deep however the last pass to the winger was dropped and great opportunity was spurned.

Pool were dominating the forwards exchanges and were driving the hosts back at every opportunity in the scrums.

From one such scrum, Callum Whitehead make a strong run and Josh Riley and Shane Ivey joined in the act . Ivey was illegally stopped and Pool were awarded a penalty . Pool kicked the ball down field for touch and Michael Smalley caught captains Adam Williamson throw before the forwards drove the ball on with John Osbourne tackled just before the line, three more phases followed before prop Graham Wilson scored in the corner from close range. In difficult kicking conditions, Lewis Wilson kick was just wide 12-0.

The second half saw Pool dominating the opening 15 minutes and after a series of scrums, Callum Whitehead continued his recent scoring spree and powered over from 5 metres for Pool's third try . 17-0. Lewis Wilson conversion moved the score onto19-0.

Pool were driving the opposition back a rate of knots in the scrums which was creating an excellent platform for the backs with Keagen Thomas and Dave Chester making strong runs at every opportunity , Taz Pelser was on hand to feed Shane Ivey who appeared on the wing to score from close range for the all important 4th try and the associated bonus point. 24-0.

With 5 minutes remaining , Pool extended the lead with a well struck penalty from 30 metres .27-0.

However the home side had the last say and scored a deserved consolation try with the last play of the match. 27-5.
