Rovers girls have fun at the seaside

Rovers made their first visit to Redcar who have been working hard to set up girls rugby. This was Redcar's first ever game, but you wouldn't think it

Redcar started brightly and took the game to Rovers. Rovers did score a couple of tries but Redcar pulled things back. The first game was very close. The second quarter was much the same with Redcar showing a determination in defence and a number of fast, strong runners. Rovers score a number of tries through Emma, Ebony, and Emily C popping up with a few.

The 3rd and 4th quarter Rovers started to pull away. Maybe the experience came through but Redcar never let their heads go down and battelled to the end.

This was good run out for Rovers who haven't trained for a number of weeks as it's the close season. That could be the reason for the rustiness early on. But eventually they were too strong for Redcar. However Redcar played much better than we would expect from a new team and you wouldn't think it was their first ever game. Certainly a team to watch out for next season.
