On Saturday we welcome Doncaster City to the Jones & Co Recreational Ground in Central Midlands Alliance action. We wish a warm welcome to all the players, officials, and supporters of Doncaster City.
As always entry for the game is £3 for Adults, £2 for Concessions and free for Members. Toms Tea Room will be open for refreshments and the Pavilion will be open for pre and post-match drinks. Also, the Shaft Side Bar will be open throughout the game for alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. The club’s raffle will also be up for grabs so please remember to purchase your tickets. As always, your support is greatly appreciated.
We currently sit in seventh position in the league table, with nine points after five fixtures. On Wednesday we won 8-1 away at Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves, with Kian Docherty and Cory Goodwin scoring twice, and Marley Alder, Alex Gibbins, Joe Green and Adam Morrison getting the other Colliery goals. On Tuesday 20th August we drew 0-0 at home to AFC Bentley. On Friday 16th August we won 7-0 away at Woodhouse Colts, with Marley Alder and Cam Till scoring twice and the other Colliery goals coming courtesy of Adam Morrison, Josh Turner and an own goal. On Tuesday 13th August we drew
2-2 at home to Elite, with Adam Morrison and Liam Smart scoring. On Saturday 3rd August we drew 0-0 at home to Blidworth Welfare.
Our visitors currently sit in second position in the table, with 18 points from six fixtures. On Wednesday they won 1-0 away at AFC Bentley, with Sam Robinson getting the only goal. On Saturday 24th August they won 3-1 at home to St Josephs, with Will McGhie, Callum Nicell and Noah Stokes scoring. On Tuesday 20th August they won 12-1 at home to Worksop Town Reserves, with Jack McKay getting a hat-trick, Callum Nicell and Noah Stokes scoring twice and Daniel Boulton, George Colton-Balogun, Mo Gashi, Will McGhie and an own goal also scoring.
The two sides have previously met twice, with Doncaster City winning both meetings. The last time that the sides met was on Saturday 18th November 2023 at the Jones & Co Recreational Ground, with Doncaster City winning 4-0, with Rio Allan scoring twice, and the other goals coming from Mo Gashi and Carl Reade.
