2 out of 2 in Division 1 for on form Haslemere

The Harriers continued their fine start in Division 1 with a comprehensive victory over Aldershot Jaguars at Camelsdale last Saturday despite not being at their flowing best.

The Jaguars were one player short for most of the match and this was reflected in the scoreline with Sam rarely getting tested and Ben, James, Nathan and Charlie well in control at the back. Up front, the long grass was having a real impact on our normal quick flowing game with a number of passes falling short and the Aldershot goal leading a charmed life at times but the Harriers showed what a good team they are by adapting to the conditions and working hard together to earn their goals.

Just the four goals between Finlay and Tom this week with Toby and Thomas each getting one.

Particularly pleasing this week was how the boys stood up to a physical opposition who weren’t averse to conceding a free kick to break up the play.

Our Man of the Match this week was Charlie RT who has been improving every game this season. His tackling was superb, consistently winning the ball from the Jaguars and then showing great composure on the ball to find one of his attacking team mates every time. Well done Charlie
