HAYLE 4-2 ST DAY

After a heavy defeat during the week against Penryn, Hayle put in a strong performance to win all 3 points at a glorious Trevassack Park.

Every player did Hayle proud through a battling 90 mins, the view from managers John Richards and Andy Tasker.

After a fairly even opening 15 minutes, it was the home side who took the lead after a perfectly timed through ball from Dale Vigus to the feet of Liam Mooney who turned past the defender and slotted home, 1-0.

It became 2-0 soon after, Craig Wilcox was fouled in the area and confidently got back up to slot home the penalty.

However St Day did pull one back, Hayle player George Holman was down injured, everyone appeared to stop as the referee neared, but Stuart Reynolds scored from a shot in off the post.

But it was Hayle who regained their two goals advantage, a Wilcox corner was missed by oncoming attacker Matt Coram but tucked away by striker Billy Foster, 3-1.

But the first half action wasn't finished yet. A free kick for St Day which was deemed unfair by the Hayle team led them to making the score 3-2. A deflected shot hitting Sam Charlton found its way past keeper Danny Ford.

In the second half, although St Day had chances it was Hayle who sealed the game through continuous pressure. A perfect through ball from defender Coram to Wilcox who nicked it past the sliding defender on the half way line had a free run to the keeper, with no hesitation in making it 4-2, giving the Green Army all 3 points.

Goals: Craig Wilcox 2, Liam Mooney, Billy Foster
