After taking 3 points earlier in the week against St Just, Hayle went into the match full of confidence.
Both teams started well but in the first half, Hayle did edge their opponents with chances but failed to take any, going in 0-0 at the break.
After a couple of changes, formation and players, it was Illogan who took the lead after mix up in the defense lead to Chris Shackley firing home with his first goal of the game.
Hayle knew their performance wasn't great but reacted brilliantly when the ball was played out to Craig Wilcox on the left, beat a couple of defenders to fire low past the keeper and defense to make it 1-1.
But again it was Illogan who re-took the lead minutes after when Shackley again fired a low show past the home keeper Jamie Cotterill.
After some younger fresh legs entered the game it was Hayle who drew level in the afternoon thanks to Wilcox who picked the ball up near the halfway line, past two opponents and stroke a fine right footed effort from 30 yards into the top right hand corner.
Hayle were now on the up and were pushing for the winner but the Illogan keeper made several saves to keep his side in the game.
Shackley completed a 'perfect' hatrick by heading home right on the goal line after another defensive mix up for Hayle but in the last few minutes of the game, a cross from the right hand side met the head of Danny Ford who secured a point for the home side after a thoroughly entertaining game for any neutrals.
Regardless of having to come behind 3 times, Hayle put in a fine performance which they will hope to build on in the coming weeks.
