HBCC welcomed St Chads to Glen Road for the 2nd of 3 games between different teams within the clubs over the space of six days.

St Chads skipper Rob Binley won the toss and put Headingley Bramhope in to bat. Chris Dalby and Ian Rogers continued their opening partnership and had to dig in (#digin) from the outset as Ravi Limbecheya and Rob Binley kept it tight for Chads and were finding some life from the conditions.

The opening pair took the score to 65 before Rogers was the first to call, bowled by Khan for 45, Charlie Baker at 3 again batted well before falling to the same bowler for 37, Dalby fell for 31 to Limbecheya. Frosdick and Costello chipped in with a few, but wickets were starting to tumble quicky as Headingley tried to up the run rate, Dave Crutchley contributing a useful 21 not out as Headingley finished on 171-8.

Skipper Stelfox and Ifty Hussain opened the bowling for Headingley, Craig Cuthbert and Ahmed Bhatti the batting for St Chads, Bhatti was given a life in the 3rd over as a chance went down, however Ifty was to strike in the 8th over, clean bowling Cuthbert, and sending back Barker for a duck in his next over. A good leg side catch by Manton off Stelfox got rid of Bhatti, and a brilliant stop and direct hit by Charlie Baker ran out Gopalan leaving St Chads at 77 for 5.

Matt Marshall on his first 1st XI outing of the year was producing some great deliveries and Dave Crutchley was offering the batsmen little, but Jordan Wagner and Rufus Mitchell batted patiently and intelligently for their team, collecting singles wherever possible but cashing in pretty ruthlessly on the rare bad ball. As HBCC fought back a number of enthusiastic appeals were turned down as Wagner & Mitchell got home in the penultimate over.
