Following the recent tragic events around one of our ex-players and coaches Heaton Moor Rugby Union Football Club are having a fundraising afternoon at The Heatons Sports Club on Saturday 25th March.
The afternoon will centre around The Milly-Rose Memorial Match, a “friendly” game of rugby where the Club’s Mini & Junior section coaches will be teaming up to take on a Heaton Moor select XV.
M&J Chairman Martin Hagger and Colts Coach James Brennan will be joining forces and trying to whip the Coaches Team into shape. Club Joint 3rd XV Captains, Chris Bolland and Jacob Davitt, will be leading a Heaton Moor Barbarian team of players past and present.
The players have all agreed to donate a match fee to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, there will be food sales, a raffle and the outside bar will be open serving up liquid refreshments. There will also be collection pots for donations.
As a club we pride ourselves in being family orientated and looking after players old and new. While we cannot change those tragic events we can come together to raise some money in memory of a beautiful angel, who passed away at just 6 years old, after a sudden illness.
Everyone is welcome to come down and watch the game…which gives the Mini & Junior coaches the opportunity to show their players they actually know what they are talking about!
