Maybe we should stick to touch...

Heaton Moor travelled to Didsbury Toc H this Saturday for the latest localised touch rugby tournament, in the hope of carrying on their promising start to their touch careers.

Moor faced Didsbury 1s in their first game which proved to be a close affair. Moor, in a contrast to last season, wound up just sneaking home with the winning try coming from a speculative, floated pass from Brad Pryjmachuk found winger David Adebo and as he does so often, David managed to touch down in the corner against all odds.

Following a tough first game, Moor came up against another of the host’s in Didsbury’s 2XV. A rest between games allowed Moor some time to work on their game plan, which showed upon kick off. Tries from Dan McDonagh, Captain Danny Child and David Adebo gave Moor a well deserved victory.

Fresh from their 2-0 start, Moor faced Stockport. Moor took the lead with a well-worked try down the right wing with Pryjmachuk and Adebo proving to be forming quite the partnership and maybe the start of a wonderful bromance? Stockport then hit back to draw level with a quick breakout try against the run of play. Cometh the hour, cometh the man and Captain Danny Child produced his now trademarked chip and chase, which saw him score under the posts to give Moor a superbly fought 2-1 victory.

To round off the day, it was Didsbury 1XV for the second time and for the second time Moor ran out winners. A 2-0 win for Moor was secured by scores from Mike Maguire and Dave Adebo, who secured his Hat-Trick of tries for the day, which gave Moor a 4/4 record.

Thanks to Didsbury Toc H for a great day and of course, the burgers went down a treat!
