Arriving at the ground we were directed over to the smelliest, fly infested corner of the pitch with a very receding grass line.

We played TRMV last week at the Happy Sundays Tournament and although we beat them we were a little daunted by a re match on their home ground. Having experienced their ability to clear out the rucks, which can only be described as brutal, we expected a tough game. Arriving at the ground we were directed over to the smelliest, fly infested corner of the pitch with a very receding grass line.
TMV only had enough for one team with no subs and we brought to the dirt one team with 6 subs and the will to win.

Our lads played flawlessly throughout the game so much so that in my opinion it was the most perfect game played this season. We had a 100% catch rate forcing TMV to stop kicking by the end of the second half when they realised they were only giving us the ball back...every time. OUR kicks however, were on target, chased down with ease and thanks to the hard dirt TMV put us on, bounced uncontrollably back into our hands placing us within reach of the try line again, again and again.
When play did hit a stalemate the hard dirt did not faze any of our boys as they tackled as if on soft soil with freshly damp grass growing through it. TMV were reluctant to commit to the ground instead choosing high tackles and scrag tackles.
The following boys took the ball successfully over the line:- Oliver (2), Andrew (4), McKenzie, Harry, Billy, Felix, Rowan, Lucas (2), Jacob (2) & Joel. Yes we had more players so had an unfair advantage but that's down to the support and dedication that our lads provide each other by turning up every week.( with help from the parents).
Highlights of the game were Lucas's blinding pace, Rowans drive and determination to maul his way across the pitch, Oliver's fierce attacking face and Mike's call for touch when in fact it was without doubt 2 meters inside the line. Should have gone to spec savers springs to mind. At the beginning of the game Mike commented "this game could be a bit of a banana skin". You were right there Mike that was definitely a slip up.

Another amazing win by a superb bunch of lads

This week it was decided by the coaches to have two Attacking players of the week:-

Rowan & Oliver.
