Our final pre-season fixture, sees us make the short journey down the A19 to take on Northern Premier East Division Side, Newton Aycliffe.

The Newtonians recently secured the signing of South Shields shot stopper Kyle Seymour, who will look to make his debut for the home side tonight.

Aycliffe’s four previous friendlies have saw them secure one win, two draws and one loss against National League North side, Darlington FC.

In contrast, this will be the Hornets eighth pre-season game, which has seen them record five wins, one draw and one loss against National League side, Gateshead FC.

The previous fixture between the two sides was back in October 2024, in the First Round of the Durham Challenge Cup, which ended 1-1 at full-time, but the Hornets prevailing 5-4 on penalties.

Ahead of the game, Daniel Moore said: “I’m looking forward to the season now.

“Obviously Friday, there’s been a couple of lads who need minutes, as was the reason we put the game on Saturday.

“There will be lads, a changed team on Friday, for to lads to get valuable minutes, with us travelling down to Guiseley in two weeks time.”

The game will be played at the Ashcourt Stadium, DL5 5AG, with a 19:30pm kick-off.
