With a break from the league the first team looked to put recent form behind them when they faced
an Aylsham side in a cup tie.
Hellesdon started well and looked to take control of the game. The return of the Spooner brothers
was a welcome one and after what looked like a stone wall penalty as Richardson was taken down in
the box it was Owen who scored the opener with a half volley into the top corner from the resulting
corner.
With Hellesdon seeming to find confidence the second half saw the centre halves looking ever more
comfortable on the ball playing out from the back with Charlesworth linking play in the centre of
midfield. Full back Pickersgill had his best performance to date worthy of the Man of The Match
accolades.
It didn’t take long for the dominance to shine through and an impressive performance from Mann
was capped off with a tidy finish.
The 2 nd Spooner then topped the performance off with a composed finish from inside the box.
Overall an improved performance which will do wonders for confidence heading into our next
league fixture against Sheringham.
