Hellesdon opened their first Premier Division campaign since 1975/76 with a Tuesday evening trip to face Reepham Town with keeper Tom Coombe, full back Jake Dugdale and midfielder Jack Guyton all making their debuts for the Lions.
Hellesdon were soon into their stride and on 5 minutes Tom Blake set up Kegan Charlesworth for a shot on goal but his effort lacked power and was comfortably saved. The Lions continued to take the game to Reepham and on 16 minutes good play by K.Charlesworth led to Guyton putting a header wide.
Hellesdon's domination looked like going unrewarded but after Guyton had seen another header go wide the Lions struck in first half injury time when K.Charlesworth fired into the right hand corner from the edge of the 18 yard box.

Half time: Reepham Town 0 Hellesdon 1

Early in the second half the Lions had a goal disallowed from a Mac Gee corner, the referee apparently spotting someone impeding the keeper but on 51 minutes they stretched their lead when Blake sprang the offside trap before being brought down by the keeper who was yellow carded. Connor Charlesworth made no mistake from the spot hammering the ball home to make it 2-0.
However Reepham hit back on 63 minutes when the experienced Paul Cook, signed from last season's champions Spixworth, found space to head home past Coombe and Cook was involved as the home side drew level on 75 minutes, his flick on ending with Webster finding the net to earn the Robins a point as their long ball tactics reaped dividends.
It was a disappointing result after the Lions had enjoyed so much of the first half possession but the team's performance provided plenty of encouragement for the season ahead.
