Following the postponement at Long Stratton the Lions returned to action with the visit of Beccles who were the last team to beat them back in mid December. They welcomed back skipper Jack Love, Mac Gee, Josh Morley and Kegan Charlesworth but were missing leading scorer Tom Blake through suspension.
The Lions began at a very high tempo but were unable to take advantage of their early dominance in the first 15 minutes when the visitors had no answer to the speed and precision of their link up play. After that Beccles began to get a foothold in the game and with play beginning to be punctuated with frequent free kicks Hellesdon were unable to establish control as before.
Around 22 minutes the hosts came close when Jack Hurrell was fouled on the left and Joe Keeley elected to play the free kick short to Morley who hammered a good effort wide of the post. Beccles won a number of corners which came to nothing before the game flared up following a rather reckless challenge by Morley which earned him and an aggrieved opponent a yellow card.
Close to half time Gee was unable to get a far post close range header on target from a Keeley corner and it remained deadlocked at the break.

Soon after the resumption Rory Judd found himself free in the box but keeper Cable pushed aside his shot and play settled back into a frustrating pattern with the Lions having the edge but lacking creativity in the final third and a number of free kick opportunities brought no reward.
Some quality in front of goal was badly needed and it arrived around 75 minutes when a build up on the right led to Ross Pantry delivering a great cross from just inside the box which picked out Keeley who was perfectly placed to guide a header beyond Cable. It was a moment of class that proved to be the difference on the day as Hellesdon stretched their unbeaten run to 6 games.
Louis Bond performed well in goal and denied the visitors an equaliser with a fine stop in the closing stages.
