U9s Cheshire Festival at Chester RUFC - Sunday 10th April

Please ensure that you read all of the attached ahead of Sunday and that you arrive at Chester by 8.30am please.

Location
Rose Garden pitches at Chester RUFC, Hare Lane, Chester CH3 5QA.

Approximate Timings
8:15am: Car park open
9:00am: Coaches briefing
9:30am: Matches commence
1:00pm onwards: Presentation
2:00pm: Finish

Car Parking
The car park will be open from 8:15am and there will be a £5 charge for parking (cash only) to encourage car sharing and reduce parking congestion. For those of you who know Chester Rugby Club, cars will be parked on the Cabbage Patch playing fields.

There will be plenty of people to help with parking and provide direction to the event. The main clubhouse car park is out of bounds as there are other events happening at the club on Sunday.

Food and Drink
The kiosk inside the clubhouse will be open from 8:30am serving a range of hot food items and hot and cold drinks. They take both cash and card as payment.

Photographer
There will be a professional photographer on site throughout the day. A link will be made available to purchase photos on-line and there will be a 25% discount for seven days after the link is shared.

Toilets
There are toilets in the main clubhouse but there will also be portaloos situated close to the pitches.

First Aid
Chester have a qualified first aider who will administer treatment as a first response and will advise further treatment or investigation for more serious injuries.

Dogs
Dogs are NOT allowed onto the playing fields.

Festival format
There are three pools with each pool having five or six teams - Helsby are playing in Pool B on Pitch 2. Pool B matches will be 15 minutes - 1 way.
9:30am Helsby v Sandbach
10.30am Knutsford v Helsby
11.30am Helsby v Chester 1
12.30am Helsby v Chester A

All scoring (pitch-side) will be handled by Chester RUFC volunteers. The festival will follow the RFU rules of play for Under 9s and the Half Game Rule will be applied to ensure that everyone in the squad gets to play at least half of the game time available.

Presentation
Each player receives a participation medal at the end of the festival. There is also the opportunity for three clubs to walk away with Spirit of Rugby Trophies, votes for these awards will come via the referees. After each match, the referee will choose one side that showed and respected the core values of the RFU. The top three teams/clubs with the most votes will receive the awards.
