A great version of Touch Rugby - open to all ages (not just the over-60's).

Run on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 8.30pm as part of the club’s general open training night, Walking Rugby makes for a great evening and offers the opportunity for three generations of the Helsby Rugby Club family to all play at the same time and then socialise in the bar afterwards.

Similar to Touch Rugby, Walking rugby is a fun way to keep fit and enjoy playing a non-contact game. and with U13s training and 1st and 2nd Team Senior Training also taking place at the same time, we very much have a mixed audience – mums and dads of the U13s, past players in their 50s and 60s, wives/girlfriends, casual Senior payers and Seniors recovering from injuries, plus even the occasional Junior player, who’s big brother or dad may be training elsewhere on the same pitch. And for a game played at a walking pace, you get a surprising sweat on!

The sessions are free of charge and are open to complete newcomers as well as past players, so why not give us a Try and Join the Rugby Family!

For more information please call 07511 158818, email info@helsbyrugby.com or simply turn up on a Thursday evening at Helsby Community Sports Club, Callender Way, Helsby WA6 0FX. Club Chairman, Chris Johnson, Club Secretary, Pete Davies and Club Safeguarding Officer, Andy Wheeler are usually in attendance to welcome any newcomers.
