On another gloomy day in West Cumbria Hensingham looked to get their first win of the season after losing by 2 points last week at Drighlington, it was Millom who started the brighter though and on 18 minutes after Hensingham failed to get their kick away on the last Millom capitalised on the field position and with a left to right shift Kian McPhearson hit a good line and broke the defence to score the opener, it wasn't long until the sides were level when, on the back of a knock on Hensingham's Jack Kellett scooted over from acting half leaving himself the simplest of conversions to take the lead 6-4 Hensingham thought they were in again when Gavin Maudling crashed over only to be pulled back for a forward pass, frustration ensued and on the back of 2 penalties Millom marched down field and stand off Jonathan Hodgson made the most of a staggered defence after a fumbled kick to pick up from acting half and score the easiest of tries on the blind side, Hensingham rallied again and a deft pass from Steven Smith put Gareth Gates through the line to give Hensingham the slenderest of leads 10-8 at half time. Hensingham started the 2nd half as they finished the first and within 5 minutes of the restart Jack Kellet mirrored his 1st try, going over from acting half again, Josh Hillier converted to extend the lead to 16-8, Millom where not to be outdone though and in a 5 minute spell a brace from Ross Brookes both converted by Lee Postlethwaite gave them a 16-20 lead, with 20 minutes left Gareth Gates, not to be out done by Jack Kellet powered over for his 2nd, Jack Kellett converted to reinstate Hensingham's lead 22-20, Hensingham looked to have held out but a 77th minute penalty was calmly converted by Lee Posstlethwaite to leave the sides with a draw for the 2nd year running.
