A brilliant captains knock by Steve Knox saw us through to the semi finals of the Scottish Cup.
For the second Sunday in a row we travelled through to East Kilbride only for the ground to be declared unfit for play. As the game had to be played by the 30th and rather than get involved in a bowl off or toss of a coin, phone calls were made to find a suitable ground. Fortunately Clydesdale CC very kindly offered their ground and the game took place at 2pm with the overs being reduced to 35 overs per side.
Knoxy won the toss and inserted the opposition. All the bowlers bowled very well to keep them down to 157/8 in 35 overs. Good fielding and tight bowling was the order of the day for the Nails.
Our innings started of brilliantly with Knoxy in imperious form, he finished on 87 not out seeing us home in style with an over to spare and only two wickets down. He received great support from firstly Kevin McLaren and then Cam Farrell who was unbeaten on 35 at the close.
We now travel to Grange Loan to meet Carlton in the Senmi Finals on Sunday 5th August. Come along and support your team.
