The teams had been selected to provide half-time entertainment for the Murrayfield crowd. The cold and driving rain did not dampen enthusiasm as both sides took to the pitch, eager to make the most of an 8-minute spot in the Murrayfield limelight. There was no doubting Heriot’s determination to deliver with most of the play being conducted in the Linlithgow half. Charlie drove over for an early try which calmed the nerves. This was followed by a superbly worked sequence ending in Cameron diving over in the corner. Tom followed with a further score borne from persistent pressure on the Linlithgow try line. Both teams relished the encounter and the Murrayfield crowd clearly appreciated their efforts in producing what turned out to be the only tries of the night!
