Upon winning the toss Hertford elected to bat, this looked like poor decision when Rob Mccarroll was sent back first ball LBW. The early going was tough against some good new ball bowling 32-3 after the opening spell. Conor Ives again impressing with the bat, built a solid partnership with Jeff until he was LBW to the left arm spinner Cobb. From then on partnership were difficult to form with some poor decision making and tight bowling Hertford were eventually bowled out for 137.
The Mymms chase started poorly when Dave Beardsley sent back opener Martinez early with a cracking delivery that just clipped the top of the off stump. From then on it was one way traffic with aggressive play from the Mymms batsmen, particularly toward the shot boundary. There was the odd chance albeit difficult ones that didn’t stick. A further 2 wickets fell but Mymms cruised to the target 3 down.
A disappointing way to finish the season and although relegated there have been positive signs towards the end of the season throughout the side, giving optimism for a strong season next year.
