After a highly successful first 100 years of existence Hertford Heath football club management sadly fell into the wrong hands. The ill fated management team quickly run up debts, severed ties with the parish council and alienated local residents, before folding the club altogether .

However in 2016 Matt Shepherd (villager & ex player) re started the team and along with an incredible bunch of fellow volunteers have rebuilt this wonderful club.

In the subsequent 5 years we have re-established a brilliant relationship with a passionate, forward thinking parish council and given local senior citizens and young village residents a social event to be a part of every Saturday afternoon .

On the field we have taken the team from the lowest possible starting point of the Hertford and district league, division 4, to the top of The Herts senior county league, division 1 this Christmas.

If we can maintain our progress and achieve promotion this season, we will take the club up to the Herts senior county, Premier division for only the 2nd time in the clubs 115 year history.

In line with the clubs on field success we are working hard off the pitch too, our committee along with the support of the parish council are very close to receiving a grant from the Football foundation, for the erection of a new changing room facility and club house which will include a multi functional room for the community to use for such things as day nurseries, yoga/ pilates/fitness classes, book clubs ect.

it’s taken 3 years of meetings and hard graft to get to this stage but we are on the cusp of finally being approved for the grant in the early part of this new year.

With the formulation of the new facility, the club can finally become self sustainable, with the sale of refreshments on match-days along with hosting social events and fundraisers.

But as part of the grant agreement, we need to raise funds ourselves to put a small percentage of the total build in as a club .

Anyone who has been involved in grassroots football will know that it’s a labour of love which generates next to no money and more often than not is kept solvent by the club volunteers dipping into there own pockets .

Unfortunately on this occasion we need to generate more money to achieve the goal of new changing rooms and a multi functional community hub for the whole village to enjoy .

In order to achieve this we are starting an official club membership scheme which is open to current players and everyone close to them - Nan’s Granddads, Mums Dads, Aunties Uncles, Brothers Sisters, Cousins, friends and work colleagues .

This is also where we would like to ask for your help by becoming an official Hertford Heath FC member for only £5 a month you in turn receive loads of stuff which brings you closer to your local team and also enters you into a monthly draw which could win you your years subscription back in 1 go, as well helping to build a self sustaining club for generations to come.

This is a club that has always been a huge sense of pride to our village and with your membership we can continue to keep it successful
