Last Saturday saw Shaun Teale come off the bench as a substitute for the injured George Bond at half time. At the age of 53 he becomes the oldest player to represent the first team in our 29th West Lancashire League season.
In his professional career he was a central defender who joined Bournemouth from non-league Weymouth for £50,000 in 1989. He spent three seasons at Bournemouth before moving to Aston Villa in July 1991.
He helped them finish runners-up in the Premier League in 1993 and win the Football League Cup a year later.
At the other end of the scale George Sergeant recently made his debut for the reserves and by doing so he has become the first person to have played for the club having been born after the year 2000!!
