A goal in each half from Darius Ghinea secures three valuable points at Tilbury.

On a bitterly cold afternoon at Chadfields, Swifts saw Chris Gregan start in place of the suspended Joe Claridge but were dealt a blow as Darren Phillips was unwell with him having hoped to return against his former club after serving his 4 match suspension.
Tilbury were dealt an early blow when former Swift Luke Wilson was substituted after just seven minutes. Swifts enjoyed a good start and went close through Dan Walker and then Lionel Ainsworth shot wide of the keepers right-hand post.
With the game approaching half time it looked like it would be a goalless first half, but in injury time Dan Walker crossed from the right and Darius Ghinea slipped ahead of the defender to score at the near post with a lovely flick.

HT Tilbury 0 SWIFTS 1

Swifts were now attacking with the benefit of the strong wind and Tilbury were struggling to clear their half. Swifts were enjoying some success down the right wing with good interplay between Lionel Ainsworth & Manny N'Daw. Tilbury saw Lewis Smith booked after 53 minutes when a late tackle took out the industrious Sam Carter.
A second goal almost came from Southend loanee Tommy Davis who struck a right foot shot with some power that keeper Scammell managed to parry away.
Swifts finally gained the all important second goal in the 75th minute - Ainsworth fed N'Daw who delayed his shot before striking the ball firmly towards goal where keeper Scammell parried the ball and Darius Ghinea met the ball at the far post for his second.
Tilbury pressed forward and were awarded a penalty in the 84th minute which was scored by Ola Ogunwamide and this signalled a spell of pressure by The Dockers as they pressed for an equaliser.
Jack Adlington-Pile came on for Dan Walker in the 89th minute and was shown a yellow card for kicking the ball away. Swifts however held firm and on this performance deservedly took the three points to move ahead of Tilbury & Hashtag United into 11th place.
